Each AutoCamp location is a unique expression of the local setting and community. Carefully-produced elements throughout the space add a warm and personal feel, many of which are produced by partners who share our values — creating designs that are authentic, artistic, and highly functional.

Get to know a few of our favorite partners at the new AutoCamp Catskills, and learn a few fun facts you can share with friends during your stay.

Meet The Makers Workshop

Workshop/APD

Led by founding principals Andrew Kotchen, Matt Berman and principal architect Thomas J. Zoli, Workshop/APD is an award-winning NYC-based architecture and design firm. Responsible for our AutoCamp Catskills architecture, interiors and master planning – overseen by Senior Designer Dirk De Beer – their work is timelessly modern and site specific, pairing warm woods with airy spaces and incorporating natural elements like plant life whenever possible. Known for their extensive hospitality projects, the office has a long history of producing hospitality spaces that are both inviting and unexpected.

Meet The Makers Stephen Kenn

Stephen Kenn

Designer Stephen Kenn founded his studio alongside his wife Beks Opperman in 2011, and have continued that hands-on, personal ethos as the brand has grown. From metal framed-couches outfitted with plush cushions (which you’ll find throughout AutoCamp Catskills) to streamlined wood shelves, each piece is designed and manufactured in Los Angeles. The most recent collection is made from vegetable tanned leather, blackened steel, and cut river stones, turning rustic materials into elemental designs that incorporate natural flaws.

Meet The Makers Warp + Weft

Warp + Weft

Founder Michael Mandapati began Warp & Weft to bring antique and period carpets to buyers who would appreciate them most. The line’s first gallery opened on New York’s Madison Avenue in 2001, with a curated vintage collection. Soon after, using a deep understanding of the craft and construction behind these enduring pieces, the company introduced Modern Collections, which can be experienced at the current Warp & Weft showroom in New York’s Design & Decoration Building. Experience the softness of their rugs underfoot throughout AutoCamp Catskills.

Meet The Makers Excell Quilt Co.

Excell Quilt Co.

Kayleigh Excell didn’t intend to start a quilt business—she was just looking for a creative outlet and connection to nature after having her first child. But her travel-inspired pieces were too beautiful not to share, and her signature arching and curved designs, produced in her London studio using sustainable techniques. Snuggle under one of her stunning quilts during cool Fall days or Spring evenings in the Catskills.

Meet The Makers Amanda Whitworth

Amanda Whitworth

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, creative pursuits were a central part of Amanda Whitworth’s upbringing. But it wasn’t until she started DIY’ing projects for her first home that she realized she was an artist at heart.

Meet The Makers Vacilando Studios

Vacilando Studio

During her early life in both Texas and London, Laura Preston spent several years in New York City studying art history, a pursuit encouraged by her architect parents. Immediately after graduation, she explored her wanderlust and spent six years traveling the country in two Airstreams, making her unique quilts a natural fit for AutoCamp. From her studio in Texas Hill Country, she now produces colorful quilts that blend heritage style with modern design for strikingly warm pieces that double as art.
