Autumn in the Yosemite Valley is truly magical. Fewer crowds, perfect temperatures, and fabulous fall colors make for an idyllic time to visit. Whether you’re traveling with friends, loved ones, little ones, or furry friends, there is something for everyone this season in Yosemite.
AutoCamp Pumpkin Patch
Explore our on-site pumpkin patch. Choose your pumpkin and decorate without venturing far from your Suite. After a day of exploring, grab a warm cup of hot cider from the Clubhouse and cozy up with a blanket to watch a movie out on the lawn!
Go Leaf Peeping
The High Country of Mariposa will be the first area in the valley for leaves to change color, starting in late September – October. Tioga Road (Highway 120) and Glacier Point Road are some of our favorite drives to witness spectacular fall colors. If you prefer a hike, get into the backcountry from almost any trail from the park to witness changing leaves.
Here’s a list of fall foliage to look out for in Yosemite:
- Quaking Aspen (golden yellow)
- Dogwood (red)
- Heath/Goose/wild berries (orange, yellow, red)
- Sugar Maple (red)
- Bigleaf Maple (yellow)
- Oak (yellow/orange/brown)
- Cottonwood (yellow)
