We’ve rounded up our favorite fall activities, both on property and in the surrounding areas so you can make the most of the season.
Cape Cod
Pumpkins Galore: Explore the pumpkin patch right on-site at AutoCamp Cape Cod! Or, enjoy all things jack-o-lantern at nearby Chatham’s Pumpkin People in the Park event, which features pumpkin-headed scarecrows in costumes throughout the town square. The following weekend you can watch seasoned artists make their own versions from beautiful blown glass at The Glass Museum’s PumpkinFest.
Explore Historic Plymouth: Now is the best time to take a lingering afternoon through New England. You’ll be rewarded with technicolor foliage, historic houses festooned with fall decorations, and maybe even a cranberry bog. Catskills

Spooky Celebrations: Toast your adventures at Hunter Mountain’s Oktoberfest, which runs for the entire month and features all the classics, from brats to beers. AutoCamp Catskills is also a 90-minute drive from one of the most famous spooky towns in America, Sleepy Hollow. The picturesque town features a full slate of events leading up to Halloween, from their own Oktoberfest to Headless Horseman-themed ghost tours.
Russian River
Cozy Up in the Redwoods: Cooler weather calls for cozying up with a beer in hand in front of a crackling fire—and the presence of majestic redwoods gives the scene an extra bit of magic. Our Friday evening tastings feature a rotating list of local breweries, who will introduce you to some of their best beers, often to a soundtrack of live music.
Local Wine Tasting: It’s grape harvest season in Sonoma County, so local wineries surrounding AutoCamp will be hosting a slew of daily events where visitors can get a window into where these famous wines get their start. This coming weekend features Healdsburg Crush, a 60-winery tasting in the square with plenty of delicious food on hand.
Yosemite
Cider Tours: Tour a working apple orchard and cider mill in the foothills of Central California. A day spent at Sierra Cider doesn’t just include some very delicious tastings and a tour of the extensive orchard—it also includes a brief history of American hard cider making.
Easy Park Access: At this time of year, you don’t need a reservation to enter Yosemite National Park. Fewer crowds and crisp hiking air make October one of the best months to explore Yosemite’s iconic views.
