March 18-20, 2022 // Weekend Festivities for AutoCamp Guests

Hello, Spring. As the ice begins to crack and the birds awaken, we’re celebrating the beauty of longer, brighter days. Join us at AutoCamp Cape Cod for a weekend of rejuvenation as Winter winds down and we embrace the new season. We’re bringing back some of our most popular hosts and workshops, as well as some cozy, local entertainment. This weekend’s lineup is sure to be engaging and restorative for all. In addition to the exciting programming onsite, AutoCamp Cape Cod offers easy access to the stunning Shining Sea Bikeway and Wood Necks Beach (just to name a few local attractions). There’s endless opportunities to explore, plus the quiet comfort of relaxing by your Suite’s private firepit and roasting s’mores is always there when you need a respite. All programs are complimentary to AutoCamp guests, except for the Fermentation Workshop.

We are thrilled to welcome back Briget Bride, a local fermentation aficionado, as a part of our Spring celebration. Her workshops will overview the gut microbiome, offering tips and tricks on how to eat and feel well. Joining her is our amazing AutoCamp super host Nicole Cormier, who will share the practice of local foraging and leading a healthy, sustainable life. Other wellness opportunities include yoga and movement offerings from our friends at innerglow yoga – classes are designed for all levels, ages, and abilities! This weekend invites you to tune inward and outward, getting grounded as we enter into these warmer, longer Spring days.

Everyday Fermentation Workshop with Briget Bride

Here’s an overview of the weekend’s festivities:

Friday, March 18th:

  • 4:00pm – Check-In // Your cozy, modern Airstream or Suite awaits!
  • 5:00-6:30pm – Tepache Welcome Drink & Introductory Fermentation Chat // We’ll kick off the weekend with a welcome discussion and happy hour! Join Briget on Friday after check in back on the first floor of the Clubhouse. We will gather and enjoy a fermented welcome beverage, as well as a mini workshop on a lesser known, but equally delicious and healthy fermented beverage, Tepache. Learn how to make your own and taste the product, and dive into the gut microbial health benefits of this special beverage.
  • 7:00-9:00pm – Music & Mingling // Come to the clubhouse and enjoy live music, games, and good conversation. Local musician, Brian Sullivan, will be playing a collection of favorite fireside tunes, as well as some special Irish-heritage inspired tracks in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. There’s no better way to kick off the weekend than with a cozy evening filled with good music! Brian will play by the outdoor firepit for the first hour and then in the Clubhouse starting at 8pm.

Saturday, March 19th:

  • 7:00-10:00am – Breakfast // Some complimentary offerings will be available at the Clubhouse, such as coffee, tea, and granola, in addition to heartier options available for purchase at our Clubhouse Cafe and General Store. 
  • 9:00am – Yoga // Stretch your limbs and tune inward with yoga and mindfulness, led by our local friends from innerglow yoga. Join us on the 2nd floor of the Clubhouse where you’ll take in sweeping views of Buzzard’s Bay! This flow is designed for all ages and experience levels.
  • 10:30am – Late Morning Foraging Walk // Join anti-diet dietician, author, sustainable food advocate, Nicole Cormier, on two foraging walks and nutrition conversations this weekend. Come away empowered, knowing more about local food-stores and easy and accessible ways to forage. A follow-up discussion will explore intuitive eating as a way to listen to your body and live a healthy and sustainable life.
  • 2:00-4:00pm – Fermentation Workshop // Briget Bride is back with her popular immersive fermentation workshop where she provides all the farm fresh ingredients needed to take home gut healthy products. This session will help you introduce probiotics into your diet, as well provide you with the tools to create your own basic ferments at home. At the end of this exciting session, you’ll take away your very own ferment setup! You won’t want to miss this nutritional, educational offering focused on the gut microbiome! Reserve your workshop spot here. Please note, this workshop requires reservations and comes with at an additional cost. You will receive an access code to reserve this workshop via email after booking.
  • 7:00-9:00pm – Music & Mingling // Stick around the Clubhouse, bring your favorite drink, and let the sounds of live tunes be the backdrop to connecting with those around you, stay for as long as you’d like!

Sunday, March 20th:

  • 7:00-10:00am – Breakfast // Some complimentary offerings will be available at the Clubhouse, such as coffee, tea, and granola, in addition to heartier options available for purchase at our Clubhouse Cafe and General Store. 
  • 8:00-9:30am – Sunday Birding Stroll // Start your day off with a stroll along the Shining Sea Bikeway in search of birds. Mike Tucker will take you on a guided walk, helping you to spot and identify native species. To learn more and sign up for this experience, visit this link.
  • 9:00am – Yoga & Meditation // Join us for another engaging yoga course designed for all levels to start your day off right. Meet on the 2nd floor of the Clubhouse to anchor to your breath and strike your pose. All materials included, and all ages are welcome to join.
  • 10:30am – Late Morning Foraging Walk // Join Nicole for a second foraging walk and nutrition conversation. Enjoy the fresh Spring air, and learn about local ingredients that can be found right in your own backyard. A follow-up discussion will explore intuitive eating as a way to listen to your body and live a healthy and sustainable life.
  • 11:00am – Check-out // Say your goodbyes and choose your ideal Sunday afternoon, whether that means strolling to the beach, signing up for a guided bike tour, or heading home!

Do I have to stay at AutoCamp to partake in the festivities?

  • Yes, this is a private event to our AutoCamp guests who are staying on property during March 18th-20th, 2022. 

Is this free to guests? Do I need to sign up for the activities?

  • Almost all of the weekend’s activities are included in the AutoCamp amenity fee; however, Saturday’s Fermentation Workshop requires advanced reservation and an extra fee. To view workshop details + pay for your spot, please visit this page.

Where are the walks?

  • All paths are directly accessible to AutoCamp Cape Cod via the Shining Sea Bike Path, and total walking time will be around 1-1.5 hours depending on the group pace and any stopping points.

Anything in particular that I should pack?

  • We advise packing layers – warm jackets, thick socks, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. You may also want to bring a camera and journal to capture the weekend’s activities!

Let’s “meet” our weekend hosts: 

Briget Bride – She has been exploring fermentation for many years. What started as an desire to introduce probiotics through everyday foods, soon became a passion that she now shares through workshops and other outlets. Briget loves to teach people to preserve their own food as a way to self-nurture and connect with community and nature. Her many interests include deeply understanding human nature, foraging, gardening, camping, and food preservation of all kinds. Briget created StoneLedge Gardens, Farm to Jar Preserve Co. and has a 28 year psychotherapy practice in Randolph, MA.

Nicole Cormier, RD, LDN – As a registered dietitian, passionate local foodie, forager, author, and blogger (just to name a few titles!), Nicole offers a holistic approach to nutrition and mindful eating practices. Throughout the weekend, Nicole will be a resource for exploring and sourcing local ingredients that can be found in the wildlands around AutoCamp Cape Cod, along with hosting nutritional discussions and a special fermentation workshop. Her expertise and passion will equip you with the tools to imbue your daily routines with simple, yet beneficial healthy practices.
