While we like to celebrate people of all backgrounds getting outside all year long,  in honor of Pride month, we took some time to ask our LGBTQ+ team members what exploring the outdoors means to them. Here are some of their responses:

What makes you proud to work at AutoCamp?

Ashley:  The culture at AutoCamp is very supportive of its employees. The company is flexible, willing to learn, willing to listen, and makes sure its people are taken care of.

What is your favorite part about the AutoCamp culture and community?

Kristyn: There is an air of caring and open mindedness as well as lots of opportunity to share and connect with others.

Ashley: I love the culture of respecting mother nature and I love how friendly and supportive the community is.

Autumn: The way the team works together and gets shit done! The acceptance of individuals from any walk of life!

Do you feel like AutoCamp is a safe space and ally for the LGBTQ+ community?

Autumn: I feel AutoCamp is a very safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ community. AutoCamp truly looks at every team member with no judgment. This has been the first time in my career that I have been able to excel based upon my work ethic and what I bring to table.

Ashley: I have met so many fellow members of the community here and feel comfortable discussing my orientation when it comes up casually in conversation.

What is your favorite AutoCamp memory to date?

Alex: A wedding a couple of years ago at Russian River- it started to pour right before the ceremony. Nobody minded, the bride walked down the aisle under the Redwoods in the rain surrounded by guests holding white umbrellas. The staff all came together to watch the ceremony from the clubhouse. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house- and not just because of the rain!

What do the outdoors mean to you?

Kristyn: The outdoors is a source of peace, a place to refresh, somewhere to connect with earth and those around us. It quiets the constant hum of our modern world and allows time for reflection and introspection.

Ashley: Safety and a natural state of being. The outdoors does not judge, it only asks you to be sensible, and respect the other life around you.

What does the rainbow flag mean to you?

Autumn: That I can marry my wife. Acceptance. The ability to love who I love.

Thanks for getting to know some of our incredible AutoCamp team! Stay tuned on social for more this month and don’t forget to share your own stories with us @autocamp.
