This Earth Day we are expressing gratitude for all the beautiful places on our home planet. AutoCamp is committed to supporting local partnerships that help protect and preserve diverse landscapes and ecosystems, in every community where we operate.
Since 2019, we’ve diverted $1 from every reservation at AutoCamp towards a local environmental nonprofit who is working on these efforts everyday. Beyond our financial contributions, we collaborate with our local partners on guest programming, events, and awareness campaigns that draw attention to the beautiful places and destinations we love. We also leverage our rooms and space for specific events and programs that highlight action on climate change, conservation, and environmental education.
In our General Store and Food & Beverage program we screen vendor partners for responsible environmental and social practices, and we choose to work with businesses that share our values of loving the environment. This means we’re increasingly prioritizing brands with verified impact, 1% For The Planet, Benefit Corporation, Climate Neutral, and more.
From today through Earth Day, we’re donating $3 for every night booked.
AutoCamp Yosemite x NatureBridge
NatureBridge’s mission is to connect young people to the wonder and science of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of our planet. Through their overnight, hands-on environmental science programs, they take more than 35,000 children and teens each year into national parks to explore the outdoors, connect with their peers, discover themselves and develop a lasting relationship with the environment.
AutoCamp Russian River x Stewards of the Coast & Redwoods
Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods (Stewards) partners with the Russian River Sector of California State Parks to promote, restore, and protect the natural and cultural resources in our parks. The sector includes Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve (outside Guerneville), Austin Creek State Recreation Area (a park Stewards is now operating), Sonoma Coast State Park (from Bodega Bay to Jenner). State Parks depends on Stewards to provide funding for the Volunteers in Parks program, facilitate educational and interpretive activities, oversee resource management and stewardship projects, and assist in the development of interpretive facilities and displays.
AutoCamp Cape Cod x The 300 Committee Land Trust
The 300 Committee Land Trust (T3C for short) is a private, non-profit land trust, whose mission is to permanently preserve and protect open space in Falmouth through acquisition, education, and stewardship. Working with the town, citizen groups and other conservation organizations, T3C safeguard’s water and other natural resources, provide public green spaces, connect people with nature, and preserve Falmouth’s unique character and beauty. T3C membership includes over 1200 people who share the belief that conservation land makes Falmouth a better place to live.
AutoCamp Joshua Tree x Mojave Desert Land Trust
Mojave Desert Land Trust (MDLT) plays a crucial role in preserving public lands and in its 15 years of existence, has protected 100,000 acres across the California desert. The organization’s work is made possible through collaboration with local community members, desert visitors, and other crucial agencies. Part of MDLT’s efforts include offering hands-on, interactive learning and volunteer opportunities to both residents and visitors.
In 2022, we will grow to 5 AutoCamp locations and plan to give even more to local conservation efforts. Stay tuned – we’ll be announcing our Catskills partner soon!
